All home videos contain small technical mistakes which you wouldn't need to show to everybody. If you like to shoot home movies, then you will also like Corel's VideoStudio. It comes with powerful video editing capabilities, but it also comes with simple and easy to understand controls. The software gives you the possibility of creating high quality video montages, without encountering any difficulties like you would in other advanced video editors.

A fully functional trial version is available, so you can evaluate the program without any restrictions. It works on Windows XP and all later versions, up to Windows 8 and it provides support for both 32 and 64-bit operating systems. A 2 GHz, dual-core processor and at least 2 GB of RAM is sufficient to run the program, but if you want it to run as smoothly as possible, you would need more powerful hardware, like an i5, i7 processor.

In terms of appearance, VideoStudio is similar to other video editors. You can find a built-in video editor and a library manager on separate panes, on the upper half of the user interface and a multi-channel timeline editor on the lower half. Media files, images and other contents can be imported in separate libraries, in which you may create one or more folders, to make your files easier to find. Library contents can be dragged and dropped into the time line, where you can trim them, move them to different channels and overlay them and more.

VideoStudio provides multiple input and output methods. Besides importing local media files, you can also import footage from a connected DV camera, record with a webcam or record your desktop. What's more, the software can use a connected camera to record stop motion videos.

The program offers a good number of output options as well. A project can be exported in popular formats, like AVI, MP4, WMV and others. Furthermore, you can export your videos for mobile devices or gaming consoles, create movie DVDs and even 3D movies. Another possibility is to upload the output videos directly to YouTube, Facebook, Flickr or Vimeo, from the same user interface.
